Let All Men Sing concert Sunday 15th October 2017 at 2pm
The 2017 festival was held on Sunday 15th October at the Wollongong Sports and Entertainment Centre and was a resounding success in every respect. The Planning Committee led by Dave Bryars (Treasurer of MCAA) did an outstanding job in bringing the whole thing together which included a gala dinner on the Saturday night attended by over 300 people.
President Neil Kinsey, noted that it was a festival of "firsts" in that it was the first time we had appointed in-house conductors, namely Tom Buchanan and Keiren Brandt-Sawdy. These two young men did a marvellous job of keeping the 330 choristers, many of whom were old enough to be their fathers or grandfathers, in tune and on time.
The concert included the wonderful sound of the "NSW Police Band "who showcased their talents and accompanied the choir on a few songs. We were also pleased to have a local musical group called "the String Family" who received enthusiastic applause for their performances.
The feedback received from many of the 1350 audience members has been that it was a wonderful concert and "the best yet".
