Appointment of Accompanists for November Festival
Karen Da Silva, of the Australian Rugby Choir, has been appointed - along with Beverley Glover - as accompanist for the MCAA Festival 'Let All Men Sing!'.
Beverley Glover has been appointed to play the National Anthems of Australia and New Zealand plus the community song (Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah) at the end of the Festival. MCAA President Alastair Crombie says he is delighted to be advised by Program Director Leon Paix of Karen's appointment. She is a very talented, long-serving and greatly appreciated part of the Rugby Choir. It is also good to see another bit of the large jigsaw puzzle of the November Festival put in place. Karen Da Silva has been the Principal Accompanist of the Australian Rugby Choir since 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from The University of Melbourne and a Diploma in Education from the University of Canberra. Karen has been a music teacher with the ACT Education and Training Directorate since 2005, including as a member of staff of the Instrumental Band Program in ACT government primary schools.
