2014 Festival of Male Voices - 'Let all men sing'
On 15th November at the AIS Arena, Canberra - the MCAA's fourth Festival of Male Choirs - a massed male choir concert and the Band of the Royal Military College Duntroon, under the direction of Guest Conductor Dr Guy Jansen, New Zealand. Around three hundred male voices and Australia's elite military Band
Choristers from thirteen of the member choirs of the Male Choirs Association of Australia, joined by the Wellington Male Voice Choir from New Zealand, performed items from opera, spirituals, musicals, and traditional songs accompanied by the the piano and the Band, which also performed some well known Band music.
Choristers came from Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Wagga Wagga, Albury, Orange, Wollongong, Sydney and Canberra – including well-known locals, the Australian Rugby Choir and the Canberra Mens Choir. A rare biennial treat of male voice song, previously staged at Llewellyn Hall (2008), the Sydney Town Hall (2010) and the Dallas Brooks Centre (Melbourne 2012).
